• Description: Research Project - Digital Service Network (DSN): Duration: 3 years; Funding: NEC Corporation - Japan; Value: R$ 950,000.00 Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) Project for the development of an automatic call distribution system for the Microsoft Windows NT platform. The development includes the implementation of the Server module and the Client module, where the latter must present a graphical interface that allows the user to view incoming calls and classify them. This system should be implemented in a Call Center System. Digital Service Network (DSN) Project that includes research activities with various emphases, divided into several phases. Among them are: " Implementation of a prototype Video on Demand system; " Study of the integration of a Cable TV system with an Internet Provider; " Study of media synchronization; " Development of a methodology for the use of the Web in training; "Evaluation of the performance of continuous media transmission on various networks, such as local area network, Internet and Internet 2. Multimedia Kiosk Implementation and deployment of a multimedia kiosk that allows the inhabitants of a city, as well as its visitors, to receive information, guidance and public utility services, thus creating a "virtual city". This project is also enabling the deployment of multimedia kiosks within the Poli Virtual project, where the same technology developed is being used."
