2025 – Present - Post-quantum cryptography: long-term security for banking systems.

Description: The project aims to identify solutions and best practices for migrating to post-quantum cryptography within the banking context, considering the ongoing standardization process of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms. This involves optimization proposals from both a theoretical and practical point of view, with the identification and improvement of existing cryptographic libraries. The project should result in proof-of-concept designs that can be used by the partner company to improve the security of its cryptographic mechanisms (e.g., for application security).

2023 – Present - Agile Post-Quantum Cryptography with protection against Side-Channel Attacks (PQC/SCA).

Description: This project aims to contribute to the construction of a security architecture that uses lattice-based cryptography (in particular, CRYSTALS-Kyber and CRYSTALS-Dilithium), while promoting: high performance of those schemes and their underlying finite-field and polynomial ring operations, e.g., by evaluating (and preferably improving) state-of-the-art implementations of Number Theoretic Transform (NTT), Discrete Galois Transform (DGT), Residue Number System (RNS) arithmetic, possibly taking advantage of parallelism in multicore processors; countermeasures against side-channel attacks; crypto-agility by design, e.g., by supporting negotiation of algorithms with different requirements in terms of memory usage and size of their corresponding inputs/outputs. The project is the result of a partnership with LGE-USA.
