LARC develops computational solutions focused on high reliability, security, and performance. The research projects conducted by the laboratory address state-of-the-art topics in computing, combining the development of innovative solutions tailored to application requirements with the training of highly qualified research personnel.
Examples of these projects:
- Development Project- development of solutions for security and privacy, data protection, and studies in post-quantum cryptography and resilience against sophisticated cyberattacks (Cybersecurity and Cryptography).
- Research Project - research on distributed architectures, data auditing, and smart contracts for the financial and public sectors (Blockchain and decentralized technologies). UBRI-USP.
- Strategic Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I) partnerships with government agencies and regulatory bodies, notably the “Elections of the Future” project with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), aimed at advancing electronic voting machines and auditing voting systems.
- Innovation project in networks and distance education - Tidia-Ae: an infrastructure for distance learning developed as part of the Tidia (Information Technology for the Development of Advanced Internet) program in partnership with FAPESP.
- Participation in the development of the IEEE Standard for Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) – Certificate Management Interfaces for End Entities.
- Industry projects in Cloud Computing, focusing on industrial partnerships and advanced networks, such as SMARTNESS, PlanetLab, and collaborations with Ericsson Research.
LARC is the first laboratory in Brazil to have research funded under the “Lei do Bem,” which provides tax incentives for research and development partnerships between universities and private companies.
