TIDIA-AE - Aprendizado Eletrônico


The project TIDIA AE - Aprendizado Eletronico- has arisen from the joint efforts of FAPESP and researchers from the main universities in the state of São Paulo to form a cooperative research project in electronic education, using cutting-edge technology allowed by the development of Advanced Internet in our country and in the world.

TIDIA AE´s goal is the development of a colaborative environment and tools for supporting teaching and learning with presence and remote synchronous/asynchronous interactions. The learning system aims at helping educational institutions, companies and foundations in their eduactional activities, allowing an expanded reach for electronic learning.

GTGV - Grupo de Trabalho em Gerência de Vídeo (Video Management Workgroup)

This project's goals are the specification and development of a framework for integrating digital media distribution services. This framework should support RNP's media dsitribution services, particularly video on-demand and live broadcast video services, derived from RNP's Digital Video workgroup.

Internet 2

The I2TV project goal was supporting the creation of a consortium for developing Interactive TV applications and tools in an Internet2 environment. The consortium was composed by several universities (USP-SP, UFRN, PUC-Rio e UFSC) and broadcast TV companies (TVU-RN, TVE-RJ, TV Cultura-SP and TV Cultura-SC).

The CISMUNDUS project aimed at aiding the creation of a new communication environment, combining several multimedia content delivery mediums to people on-the-move, using DVB-T and UMTS/GPRS networks.

The main goals of RMAV-SP, joining worldwide effort in the Internet2 project, are the creation of a high-speed, metropolitan area network to be used in the interconnection of universities, research centers and service operators inside the state of São Paulo as well as the development of research works involving Tele-Education, Tele-Medicine and Security and Management applications in these environment.

The network infrastructure was based on ATM technology, using at 155 Mbps fiber optics or radio links. These links are used to interconnect several research centers, enabling the realization of several researches, including the ones related to carrying multimedia information over IP switching.|

LARC was responsible for the general coordination of this project in the city of São Paulo, as well as for the Network Management and TeleEducation working groups.
